Q. I am trying to use OLE embedding with DeltaGraph version 5.0, but it does not seem to work as described in the Help system. Help says I should create the chart in DeltaGraph 5.0, copy it and then switch to the other application [such as Microsoft Word or Excel]. I am then instructed to select Edit->Paste Special from the Menus. From here Help suggests that within the Paste Special dialog box I click Paste, and select DeltaGraph 5 Document Object from the list. This is not possible. Microsoft Excel does not offer an option to Paste a DeltaGraph 5 Document. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint do not have Paste Special as an option in the Edit menu. How can I embed a DeltaGraph chart into another application?

A. The DeltaGraph 5.0 Help system is incorrect. We apologize for the inconvenience. The problem has been filed with DeltaGraph development. The correct way to use OLE embedding with DeltaGraph is to create the chart in DeltaGraph 5.0 then save the file. Next, open the other application and choose Insert->Object. Choose the "Create from file" tab and browse for the saved file. Check the "Link to file" option and click OK. Your chart will then be embedded in the document.
