| How do I create a chart template in DeltaGraph? |

Creating a chart template will allow you to save your own template to apply to charts that you can reuse with new data. Annual reports, quarterly reports and repetitive experiments require less chart building time when using DeltaGraph templates.
Step one: Input or import your data to the DeltaGraph work sheet for analysis and charting. Our example uses data to create a scatter chart.
Step two:
Select your data and create your chart, at this point all default fonts and chart set up will be applied. We have created a scatter chart.

Step three:
Apply your modifications to your chart.
We have changed: The font type and size and made the linear scale on the Y axis into a logarithmic scale. You can make as many changes as you would like, depending on how you like to see your data represented.
Step four:
After you have made all of your changes select File from the upper tool bar, then Libraries then New. A dialogue box will ask you to name the file. Consider what you will be using this template for. Are you creating a template for all you scatter plots that you will submit to a specific journal? Will this template be used for a set of experiments? We have saved the file as “Scatter Plot Templates”. After naming and saving the file a blank “Library” window will appear.

Step five:
Drag and drop your customized scatter plot into the blank library window, a dialogue will appear asking you to name the template then select save chart as template. We have named our template “Log Scale, TimesNewRoman, 14”.
Now my template is saved in my library for my next data set.

Test your Template:
Test your template by creating another scatter plot with new data: 1.We copy pasted our first data set into a new data work sheet then changed the first row of data slightly to create a new data set.
2. Next open a blank canvas for your new chart (notice your library window is still open).

3. Now drag and drop the template onto the canvas, an x-box will show up as well as a dialogue box asking you to select your data for charting

4. Select all of the data and “Plot” from the dialogue box. Your new data will be layed out in the scatter plot template you created.
